A. When a subscriber sees a potential crime, incident or violation, he/she takes a picture or video, sends a text message or calls 9-1-1 with a mobile phone. After a 9-1-1 Communications Center authenticates the incident or violation, they will send the information to SAM Alerts for distribution within a predefined radius.

Q. How do I sign up to be a subscriber and what does it cost?
A. To register, fill out the NexGen registration form and click submit. There is no cost to become a subscriber. However, your wireless carrier may charge you a fee to send and/or receive messages on your mobile phone.

Q. I registered for Sam Alerts and received an email stating that it’s not yet available in my area. How can I make this happen?
A. Contact your Local and State Representatives and let them know that you want SAM Alerts in your area.

Q. How safe is the data?
A. The data is retained behind an encrypted firewall and can be retrieved for reporting or legal purposes.

Q. How many photos can SAM Alerts handle/send at one time?
A. SAM Alerts has a minimum transfer rate of 320 photos per minute and is scalable to meet the needs of specific areas and agencies.
